I'm new to tri and looking to pick up a second hand road bike to start out with.
I'm getting conflicting advice on whether I really need to get a ladies bike or whether a small mans bike would do?
At 5ft 6, what size in either should I be looking for?

Also, does anyone knows any stores that regularly get in 2nd hand bikes?

although some people go a bit more technical :)

don't know about second-hand tri bikes myself. most stores only seem to do new - less hassle for them and a lot of people buy new now with the bike-to-work scheme so it's easy money...

Am considering a bike again . 2 years ago I got one that was a bit too big.Passed it on to taller girl. Is there anywhere Northside direction that would fit to the specs of the second suggested standard? Or even the west of Ireland between Sligo and galway

I am 5'6" and ride a 52cm (medium) Trek Lexa road bike - this is a WSD bike, though a small men's bike could have done just as well.
