So I crawled all the way to Stary from the deerstand to its SW at night time on a server with 20 people. Avoid all the Zeds on the way in and up to the military tents. As soon as I get within 10 metres of anything I start hearing shots... and then i'm dead. Bastard.

How come when I put something in a tent and then abort, the item I put in duplicates? This seems really exploitable to me and so easy to do.

Anyone could just dupe a ****loads of weapons and raid places without fear of losing anything. I stole one AK kobra from another tent and now because of this glitch I have 4 of them in my own tent. =(

Im currently in the Green Mountain area. I see this huge mast thing, looks interesting. Im thinking of heading up north to the huge airfield north of Vybor. I get the feeling its going to be a very dangerous place with raiders though.

I love this game. Going through the forests is awesome.

Strange issue.On the servers when its dark the lag is really really bad.Is that a problem with the game or just a bad choice of server--ping was at 31 but it was so jerky that I died in seconds.Couldnt even get a single shot off.

Its a regular slaughter down at cherno hospital apts. fair dues to the 2 guys who kept killing us and got away with my DMR.

Jesus that NW airfield is dangerous tonight! Was stuck in a factory there for an age after a sniper took out my teammate only to somehow die after I put a whole FN FAL clip into someone that wouldn't go down. Must have been de-sync

Likewise. It's really clicking with me now. Had a game earlier where i managed to find an axe. Killed a couple of zeds but then got cocky and chased up a mountain. Bleeding badly i killed the last one and by a complete stroke of luck he was carrying a bandage (i had given up checking the zombies, assumed they carried nothing). Stopped the bleeding but health was down to 10%.
Looked up the map from the wiki and reckoned I was near a high value factory. After about 20 mins I managed to creep inside and eventually found a shotgun, my first gun!

Took out a couple more zeds on my way back to the forest. At this stage I was going unconscious every 30 seconds or so. Decided to head inland for the first time. Exhilarating experience as you sprint through the forest and approach a town. You stand up high surveying and planning your approach wondering "I wonder if I'll survive this one..."

Brilliant game.

judging by the posts above the there seems to be a lot of pvp. I had hoped there'd be a bit more co-op - Are most people on the boards server just out to kill anything that moves?

And your other mate shot my mate so we werent taking any chances hence the m107 in the window at your mate.

It depends.

If you've just spawned and are at the coast then a lot of players will leave you alone, though not all. Some areas, where the best weapons spawn, are considered PvP zones.

If you're part of a group, like the [Boards] group, and play together then any outsiders are likely to be killed on sight.

And he took a shot at your mate because a sniper and someone else had taken shots at us 10 minutes before that as we were going for the firestation, so had to assume it was you guys which obviously by where your sniper was placed, it was.

People take the vehicles off-map to hoard them. You can sometimes find them right on the outskirts of the map, but it's mainly the vehicles too awful to bother taking any further.

We heard shots on the way up, assume the car was yours ? as we moved towards we lost one. I seen you and your mate enter the factory so the others assumed positions

Finally got around to checking this out today. Played it earlier for a few minutes to just see what it's like, this was during the day when it was bright...

So I loaded it back up 20-30mins ago and it was pitch black... I have no idea what I'm doing, where I'm going or what's what. I can't see shit. I figure the best thing that I can do is run. So I run and run. I eventually come across some power lines and figure I'll follow those and hopefully I'll come to a town or somewhere that's lit up.

After following them for maybe 15 minutes I come to a small little village, and there's a few zombies about. I can only see them by crouching and glimpsing their silhouettes against the night sky. I keep on blindly running and BAM... run straight into a zombie. The fucker ends up hitting me, so now on top of being essentially blind, clueless, dehydrating, slowly starving to death, I'm also now bleeding. I have no bandages, no water or food. I have a torch but no batteries. I do what I can and what I can do is run.

So I run some more.

After a while I come across a small wooden pier jutting out into a lake or sea, I can't really tell. There's nothing I can do at this point. The world is getting blurry. So I walk out to the end, jump off and I swim out to die.

That's my DayZ story. It was fun I think.

Nope, no shots from us apart from silenced ones against zeds just before you killed my mate and the car wasn't ours. Oh well, ****e happens. Next time the rest of your team won't get away so handy

Decided I would wander into a church in elektro, I was in there no more than a minute when someone came in and instantly killed me

Is there any kind of chat system in the game? I was worried he might have asked if I was a friendly and killed me when he got no response.

Every server is the same tbh. 99% of the time when you meet another survivor one of you won't be leaving there alive... The very odd time if you say you;re friendly then they'll leave you alone, other times they'll pretend to leave you alone then shoot you in the back.

If you see someone you either run away or shoot. Like quarry and his friends here, could have let me and my mate check out the firestation and be on our way as he had a few lads with him, but instead they get in position and fire at us and eventually kill us instead. Depends on how you want to play the game really.

That disconnection saved my ass from 7 zombies

I expected to have been taken out by someone with a sniper by now where I am. Im left a bit disappointed.
