Looking for suggestions for somewhere we could have a STEN weekend. Ideally we want somewhere big enough to take a group of about 40 people. It would need to be cheap, with a communal place for partying.
Not sure if a hotel would suit (budget wise).
Preferably a large house / houses we could rent for a weekend.

    Any suggestions??

The Irish Landmark Trust have lots of great places to rent like lighthouses etc it might suit your party :)www.irishlandmark.com

Edit: don't know if they've anything big enough for 40 people, sorry! Our family rented a castle for a huge wedding anniversary party once, I think it was in Kinvara, but can't find a link - it was a while ago.

Rent a few holiday homes in Roundstone, Co. Galway. Plenty of big 4/5 bedroom houses available and any one could hold everyone for a session when you count kitchen/dining area, sitting room and garden if weather is ok. Town is great craic and fairly cheap. Could have one night in Galway or Clifden if you want late bars or a club. Decent trek to them but a mini-bus should work out ok. Bars in the town will serve late enough if you don't want to waste 1hr each way bussing it.

I went to Lahinch for my hen nite and we stayed here -> http://www.selfcatering-ireland.com/holiday-home-Lios-na-Mara-in-Lahinch-Clare-112.cfm

We booked through the Supervalu breaks, took 3 houses. They were E300 per house for a week....so divide that out and it was about E50 per head for the amount we had in our group. There are 3 double rooms (1 ensuite) and a MASSIVE sitting room (so you could put ppl on couches/camper beds/go to sleep where you fall down etc). Its really close to the town and it was a fairly lively pub atmosphere there.

We also used this bus company - http://www.lahinchbushire.ie/ - Pete was our driver and he was some legend!! we went on a mystery tour and he took us to Fr Teds house and to the Cliffs of Moher and Doolin.....very cultured group of hens we were! lol
