Received jetseal from cleancar this morning, nice personally written message on the invoice which was in a separate envelope addressed to me which also included a refresher bar
had to ring them up and commend them on it, your man seemed genuinely stunned to receive a compliment. Great service 0 -

I can see where you're coming from, accidents do happen and where someone takes responsibility and is obviously mortified I'd certainly hate to see someone trying to screw them to the wall over it.Well mainly because sh1t happens and I appreciate that.
With the exception of catastrophic damage in my opinion and on the back of an apology, I'd let it slide.
On the other hand, if damage is done and is going to have to be repaired there's going to be a cost involved, and one can hardly expect the owner, especially if they're not rolling in the dough, to cough up for an extra cost incurred through no fault of their own.
It's a balance between being stingy / nasty on the one hand, and being out of pocket on the other.
If I was the offender, I'd want to cover the cost; if I was the owner in those circumstances, I'd seek to get the repair done properly but also as cheaply as possible, and play fair with the person responsible given that they had played fair with me.
