No matter what anyone says, you'll never live in worse dumps than I have.

After you OP, it's rude not to give your own opinion before asking us lot.

No trees were harmed in the posting of this message, however a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

There was a thread over in the Limerick forum a few years back about a guy who went in there and took loads of photo's. Many showed how bad the place actually was. Alot worse than that picture linked above looks like.

It's pretty bad alright, looks terrible. Something should of been done about that along time ago. Have they started knocking them down yet?

How is it so bad in that part of Limerick?
Is it the same families causing trouble or just no good will in the community?
U think the government could at lease get some sort of a grip with the problem's!

I don't know! Apparently deprivation and easy access to more money you'll ever make in any job is enough to drive some into dealing/taking drugs

It's awful that money would be spent on something as frivolous and unemotive as the spire rather than on infrastructure and renovations for communities. That last picture is fairly soar to see.

i wouldn't go blaming the hole community now..i would think its some families causing trouble and the government are not doing anything to help the situation talk about Social isolation,,,

Oh not blaming the whole community sure I lived in a bad part of Dublin when I was younger and there is many nice people and families who cause no problems and work hard.
I just find it hard to believe that a few families can cause so much hardship and money and resource's(Garda,County Council etc).

The Government should hang there heads in shame especially the last crowd while money wasn't a problem.

Invariably posters will put their home town or place they had a bad experience in (which is often one and the same) but from travelling all around Ireland for many years I wound give that dubious accolade to:

Tipperary town. Complete and utter dive.

Its not you're average petty criminals they're dealing with though, some of these people are serious members of organised crime. Limerick is a sad case buts its not simple to tackle the problem, these thugs have a vice like grip on their communities and are ensuring positive change can't be implemented. I'm not saying the Gardai couldn't do more, but in these times of drastic cutbacks it makes their job a whole lot harder.
