Lads, I presume the best place to go to get these feckers removed, and normal non lock nuts would be a dealer? Or would anyone have those bolts?

    Pictures of ze problem:

Sorry you want to remove normal lock or OEM anti theft lock?
If the later, yep dealer have kits of anti theft bolts.

The lock nut in the pictures above. Problem is that they're on too tight, I have the adapter, but applying enough pressure with the crappy adapter + wrench in the boot just isn't working. Want to replace shiiittee lock nuts with just standard ones.

get a long hollow metal bar and put it over the end of your wheel brace, more leverage equals more torque i.e more turning power.

    This I know.

The problem is though, that the lock nut adapter doesn't sit flush on the surface, picture 3 above shows how it leans down almost when you apply any force. I fear I'll strip the ****ty adapter before getting it off

It's not the fact he doesn't have enough leverage, it's that the lock nuts aren't OEM and are shearing away

Decent set of easy outs and a drill is what he needs

Ordered oil, fuel, air, pollen filter, 10w40 oil, coolant, brake pads, reverse light switch, wheel brace, grease cap for tow bar, aero wipers, dash lights abd alternator belt all for 120 quid :) for a tdi caddy doing a major service

Also did a mr muscle oven cleaner job on the turbo can't recommend this enough for any vag group tdi's that have a limp mode problem :)

@ w/end cleaned up my recently purchased brake calipers, and stuck the front ones on, still not convinced 312mm disks will fit under my 16's but am planning to have a go at the weekend.

I think they will. My steel spare is 16" so hopefully would fit.

    On another note.
Picked up a set of Genuine Cupra skirts today..
Gone away to be sprayed now.
Should be getting fitted by the weekend hopefully to the Toledo.

16's will clear 312's no problems.

went to Co Donegal, with my toyota Avensis, round trip 580 km according google maps... one way fully loaded 4 adults + 1 kid, full boot with stuff, back 2 adults with kid, empty boot, one travel bag inside car.

i filled 37.5 liter petrol, and now it is in same position, before i filled car. so its 37.5 liters in 580 km. i think not bad for 14 years old 1.8 petrol 7a-fe engine.
which give us 6.5 liter per 100 km. not bad..... not bad.....

I add up more than 150 euro ++ of products there, and also the fact that you might as well accumulate 8 hours of labour time, to possible not have as good of a finish as a professional.

Would it not have been cheaper/better to get someone to do them for you?

It would but you wouldn't get the experience of doing it yourself if you did that ;)

Plus you'll get multiple runs out of that stuff
Where's the fun in paying somebody for doing what you enjoy doing?

Sending them to lepsons which would be the only wheel refurb place I'd trust as I've never heard about bad work from them would cost over €300 at least, for reps, it's not worth that, I could just buy new wheels. I also don't have a storage space to just put the car on 4 axle stands and know it's safe.

Also as I'm not working, I don't give a flying fook if I accumulate 200 hours of labor as I'd be doing nothing anyway. Most of the work that's been done on the car so far has been by myself, conzy and Metzgermeister (and randylonghorn watching) - including a full suspension rebuild. If I paid someone to do all of that I'd still have no clue how my cars suspension goes together.

Considering how he shows affection for sheep, I'm not quite sure I want him showing affection to my car :pac:

    So far:

Wheels cleaned, de-tarred, weights removed and nitromors applied, and it's starting to do it's thang.

Well, I tried offering it a biscuit the last day and you still weren't pleased! :pac:

More on-topic, it will be interesting to compare the results of these with Conzy's, which were sent in to be sandblasted and then home-sprayed.
