Broken speedo on Octavia

Hi guys, I have a 00 Skoda Octavia with a broken speedometer and fluctuating fuel guage. The problem only occured when the engine was taken out (to fit a timimg belt) so I ssume it's a wiring problem or maybe a reset is needed. Hi guys,

I have a 00 Skoda Octavia with a broken speedometer and fluctuating fuel guage.

The problem only occured when the engine was taken out (to fit a timimg belt) so I ssume it's a wiring problem or maybe a reset is needed.

Didn't want to ressurect previous thread on this so if anyone has had this problem before maybe they could help. If there are any DIY ideas please let me know.
