Microsoft is so confident Windows 8 is going to be a success they are practically giving it away to the entire world.

I think there has been an accepted logic for some time that if you don't take the mic on pricing you wont see as much piracy. That said it's not the one horse race it used to be.

it might be worth your while ordering from Amazon and paying the extra for fast delivery. will still work out cheaper than dabs.

Too the bullet and got it of komplett.ie 209eu. Not the cheapest crucial m4, but feck it. They use standart mail, which means I will be able to pick it up after work in the post office. Where's delivery companies can be quite assholes.

for a new OS, $40 is more than reasonable. I'll be upgrading if someone figures out how to disable metro.

at least they don't charge $50 every time they make a new skin and a few security updates like some other fruitful companies.

for the amount of use the average personn gets out of a windows install.. 100 euro is really quite reasonable
if there was some way to spread the cost of a legal windows install over a year or two I'd jump on that, I don't mind paying for it in theory.. it's just that there's always something else I need 100 euro for and when it comes to it I'd much rather support the games/movie/music industries than Microsoft.

I agree - I meant that $40 or so is more reasonable and more likely to be paid. Almost every household has at least 1 PC - $40 from every family in the developed world surely covers Microsoft's cost with a couple of quid left over for the odd super yacht.

For $40 it becomes - I'll just pay it - rather than waiting between generations or warez.

Thats an extension of something thats been going for a while but nice to see steam adopting it! Might see some innovation creeping back into the mainstream rather than just the same franchises.

Birra random one, but is there any way to keep dust levels down in a room? My rig is in my bedroom, and while its easy enough to dust it every few weeks, the monitors, external drives, and networking gear all collect dust like you wouldnt believe. If I could slow that process it'd be great as I kinda get a bit OCD about it :p

Well, I got most of my Hwvs order delivered today, everything minus the case which was dispatched in a 2nd package. Odd that they didn't arrive on the same day though.

Checked out the tracking no. on dhl and got this on the track & trace log :

Status from Wed, 11.07.12 07:39 hours Delivery of the shipment has been deferred at the recipient's request.

Next step A new delivery attempt will take place the next working day.

    odd....

Well there is this thing that goes around and sucks up dust of the floor. I'm trying to think now - ah yes - the wife...

But apart from that you can get fans with an ioniser on them that apparently trap dust - some people say its non-sense some swear by them. I suppose you could set one up near the airflow to your kit and see what happens.

There's a very easy, very simple solution: Don't live in it. (Something like 70% of dust is skin particles)

I guess it's the same as with a case - good airflow. Keep a door and window open, might keep the dust moving and stop it from settling on stuff at the very least.

I was just about to start playing Deux Ex but found GOG.com while it was downloading. So tempting to buy all the old Wing Commander games!

well shogun is 10 quid now, so its a good deal. well worth it. i doubt it will drop any more. its still the latest TW title. i wish fall of samurai would drop.

i refuse to play shogun 2 untill my ssd arives. the fecking loading times makes me a sad panda.

witcher 2 is a savage savage game. my 2011 GOTY. I need to get back to it and go with other side of it.

What's the gameplay side of Shogun 2 like? I'm a Rome pro and hated Empire, which one is it closer to? I really hate the Warscape engine :(. It's just so unmoddable!

I did not played empire or Rome.

Though I can honestly say that shogun 2 is a pimped out shogun 1. In a good way. It really feels like shogun 1. It's simplyer and more straight forward. Still huge game though.
Like I said: get ssd if you plan playing shogun 2. Loading game and restarting battles takes forever. I can't remember when the last time I have seen such huge loading times!!!
