Will a 25c tyre fit into a 23c rim?

    Heya Folks,

I bought a carrera tdf last september and I've had a lot of problems getting pinch punctures cycling home along north strand especially with the standard tyres on the bike. I'd imagine they're fairly rubbish ones so I was looking at getting Schwalbe marathon pluses, especially seeing as the dublin bike scheme has gone for them too. I can't find too many places with 23c versions of these tyres which might be an intentional thing with the extra internal layers, so I'm wondering would the 25's go on to the 23c rims? I'm mainly commuting on it so I don't care about the speed of the ride right now, grip in bad weather and puncture resistance are the more important factors.

I'm inflating the tyres to a little over 110 psi each time to account for a little leak as I take off the pump adapter each time, and more inflated tyres should do better against pinches shouldn't they? I presume the front tyre is also more prone to pinches with all of my weight pushing on to the tyre as it hits something, rather than the back tyre being dragged over a sharp edge?

    Cheers for any thoughts!
