Connecting 2 televisions to same UPC box?

    Hello all,

I have a upc box connected to my television in the sitting room and wish to connect the television in the kitchen to the same box. I tried splitting the coaxial cable in the back of the box with the television in the kitchen but it does not work. I've also tried to split the scart cable but I can only watch one television at a time using a manual switch on the scart adaptor. So, is there any way to have both televisions working?? I know they will have the same channel and that is fine.

    Thanks

You need an unswitched SCART splitter but the SCART cable to the kitchen will be a problem, this is an analogue signal and prone to interference from electrical devices so you'll need a high quality well-shielded SCART cable which won't be cheap and that's if you can find one because SCART is on the way out with the demise of VCRs and the move to HD which uses HDMI digital cables.

Consider splitting the co-ax and using the analogue channels only in the kitchen if that's acceptable, then you won't have to watch the same program on both TVs but you won't have BBC3/4, ITV2/3/4 etc. in the kitchen.

Thats what I have done, and picked up a sky box on adverts for the free sats,so plenty to watch.
