Forcing students to take Irish up until Leaving Cert is a waste of valuable education funds.

In fact the entire Leaving Cert system could really do with an overhaul when one considers a third level qualification is now the minimum workplace requirement for a decent standard of living.

True, electricians seem to still make a decent living as well from what I've heard.

I really like Tom Cruise as an actor, pretty much every film he's been in I've enjoyed

    (Including Top Gun)

+2 I couldn't care less about who he really is or what he does in his personal life, it's the character he's playing on screen that I'm interested in.

Why would you drive a mere 1.2 miles when sober, let alone with your judgement impaired by alcohol? (and your judgement is generally somewhat impaired after two drinks)

    Just walk.

easier said than done heading uphill towards the mountains in pitch darkness...and dont get started on the wind and rain in winter..plus the jouney is return..Also road is lethal for young lads speeding as its so rural and no where to stand in..its a quiet road but when they come they come at crzy speed...Im more referring to on the way home from work that i cant have a pint before settling in for the night. If i go out now its out for the night

If there's people speeding then you're probably safer walking, and being able to keep to the side of the road or get off it, than you are drink-driving. Even if you've only had one or two, your judgement will be impaired and you probably won't notice it.

Just don't drink and drive. It's never worth the risk. I can't understand why people do it and I've heard all the arguments.

My unpopular opinion is that Shakespeare rocks

Maybe he does but the way the plays are studied in school is silly.

It's like studying the screenplay of a film in great detail, without ever even looking at the film.

Obama is a narcissist and a douche. Honestly, I find him fake and superficial on an almost legendary level. I really don't understand why people treat him like the Second Coming.

My unpopular opinion is that the USSR won world war 2.
Certainly the Nazis attacking Soviet Russia was a major turning point in the war in Europe, far more significant than the D-day landings. And a good job they did, the Americans would have been itching to use their shiny new toy somewhere.

Aside from the unsavory 6 million Jews thing, Hitler was an economic mastermind, a man capable of pushing through huge reforms.

Hitler was a douchebag of absoutely gigantic magnitude. Germany couldn't survive ten more years of his economic policy because it involved ludicrously high government spending. Added to that, arms spending was extremely high and Germany only survived through WW2 because it forced conquered populations into labour/ because Romania was its bitch and supplied it with loads of oil. Otherwise WW2 would have been very, very short.

Part of the reason I don't drink alcohol is because it doesn't make me feel hydrated.

I've sometimes felt sexual attraction to girls who are underage.

At the risk of this statement being interpreted that I am some kind of paedophile, I should qualify this by saying it wasnt immediately apparent that they were underage and the urges have never been acted upon.

the Niall Mellon Township charity really annoys me...One of the worlds top economies that just hosted a world cup in 2010 and were sending people from our broke country out to aid there deprived areas..They should be looking after their own, we should also

I really, really enjoyed reading Peig in school. Still have my copy of it on the shelf, well over 20 years later. I never understood why everybody hated it so much:confused:

What!!! This has to be an unpopular opinion. I wished they had dumped her into the ocean before she got a chance to write her stupid book about her miserable depressing life that noone gave a toss about anyway.
