Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Every morning I am watching sky sports news and Alex Hammond's bet of the day is a feature of the show. I have never paid it much attention but I would like to see how profitable or lack there of it is in the long run if you were following her.

This will be a fake money log, just a record of how she gets on with her picks, blanket bets of 10 euro. If it does turn out to be profitable I will start backing her with real money I suppose

    First up today

    Hamilton - 9.50 Peter Anders 9/4 10euro

    Why?

Is that the best way to accurately track something like this? Tracking someone from level stakes is not my strong point, havent done it before :) thought you would just go from the price you got your bet on at?

And she is hot! Some photos bettert then others :D

Much better on tv actually then any photo I could find on google!

Split up as far as I know, she gets around the jockeys and trainers :)

tbf to her, not all her tips are favs but they do get backed in to favoritism sometimes.

Ok, she may very well be, I wouldn't know, she has had a good last few days though.

I'll give the girl a chance sure, not like its going to cost me any money to log her tips is it?

Ah yea no harm in following her I was just replying to the thread title.

I'll keep an eye with interest I have never followed her or kept a log of her bets just something I've got in my head about her from randomly seeing her tip fav's that keep losing.

    Good luck.:)

Ah it would be a much bigger sample size then that to start following her with real money!

Also, I don't ever think its wise to blindly follow

    Tip of the Day

    Sapphire - 4.20 Curragh 261/100 (betfair)

Fave or joint fave generally, plenty of movement so far in this market this morning

    10 euro

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

I feel I should mention 1 huge price difference between 1 bookie and the rest regarding the other well fancied horse in that race, Izzi Top is generally available at 6/4, 13/8 in most bookies, however SportingBet currently have it priced at 9/4! Thats a huge difference

I looked at that price, saw it in decimal (which I understand!) and passed! I'll give her a go when she picks something at backable odds.

She has had an 11/2 and a 3/1 winner so far, todays was the first under even money and it was a mental price the horse went off for that sort of race.

At that price, I'd be a bit worried it won by less than two lengths tbh.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

Yeah, as I have said it is/was a mental price and I would not have been touching it with real money.

Didnt watch, did it ease down or was it flat out for the finish?

Didn't see it either but according to ATR...
led 1f, tracked leader, led on bit over 2f out, nudged clear final furlong, easily

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

Easily, sounds handy enough then, as you want at that price!

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,185 ✭✭✭tinodz

Ibtahaj today for her. The price has fell out of that this morning though - Evens down to 4/7 (currently)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

    Ibtahaj is 4/9 now!

Absolutely crazy priced horses the last 2 days, the distance is a bit safer for the punter but you certainly could not make money following tips like these :)

Needs to up her game and get a bigger priced horse with a chance again!

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,185 ✭✭✭tinodz

Have a feeling she is going to go with Best Trip (3:50 Haydock) tomorrow. It is already dropping hard (3/1 down to 2/1)

Just a guess really. It kinda follows her previous picks - Ibtahaj, Glass Office, and Viscount Vert. They were all good horses that opened at decent price (in regards to the quality) and got backed heavily.
