Was scavenging in the shop in elector (I think thats what its called) and found a an enfield(No ammo), next thing i know some guy is shooting at me... **** myself and run to the school. No idea where it was coming from, so scouted about a bit and noticed him on the firestation tower.....

So i flanked out around onto the hills beside the station, he must have went back into the fire station. Waited a while and got him as he was going back up the ladders !

My first "Murder"... but it was more in revenge/self defense !

You need ArmA 2: Combined Operations.
Don't get it off Steam, go to the Bohemia site and buy the digital copy. Its cheaper and activates on Steam.

Then, pretty much, Google installing DayZ and look up a few videos.

Except if you lock the server you don't have to worry about other people killing you while you systematically spawn loot.

He was going up to collect his stuff after I unloaded a shotgun in his face, I was sitting on the ladder for 5 minutes waiting for him to turn away with his m16, think his name was lazybolix or something. He was shooting at me for ages aswell

If you do it at night or on unpopulated server, which there are loads of that is a non-issue.

So, you run the server.

You restart it when you feel like,
Put locks on it when you feel like it for "testing" but nothing to test, and dont say there is
cause the dev's have test servers and any patch that comes out that you have to (cough) "test" is stupid, if there is another bug, what the hell can ye do? nothing.

Conclusion
A) lock the server with a password and horde horde horde (which i think 95% people that aint in the little boards girls group will agree with)

or

You have virtual sex sessions with each other when you lock the server (totally your own business )#


ALSO , you were asking us for donations when in fact your donations that you recieved already from players well exceed's the server cost and yet you still look for it off players, may i just add , BAD FORM.
i know you will come up with a (cough) "reason" for asking like , we keep it incase we gona open another server or a bigger server or some ****e.

ALSO, reserving slots for people is against the game rules and your server can be completly banned for this, best part is, You can ban me from Boards.ie, but not from the game

Well dont play on your server anyways anymore , cause of how AWEFULL its run by the mods so not like i mind anyways, Enjoying my ban already .
But at least i got to say what everyone was thinking.

Wasn't going to post but there's a few assumptions here I'd like to rectify.

Never once has the server been locked for looting. From memory it was locked a handful of times.

During 1.6 after 15 had joined,then re-opened a minute later so the server wasn't overloaded as everyone was getting stuck at loading.

During the changeover from the Irish server company to the new one in germany. I was one of the people (3 of us) used to test this as I had the latest beta and game client. It lasted all of 45seconds. I was well north of the NE Airfield and so were the others,we had zero chance to loot.

Yes there are servers who "test" so they can loot. I can honestly say while I've been on villans server this has never happened. If it helps I play a good few hours a day at random times.

Personally I'm against locking the server. It takes the fun out of it and runs the risk of getting the server blacklisted and its the server I play on solely unless there's no room or I can't see.

And no I haven't donated,simply because I'm flat broke,I will when I get a chance and I expect no "special privileges". Its simply a thank you for hosting a server.

Considering I'm on talking terms with Villan,and I'm just guessing here,your not,how is it you know the cost of the server and the total in donations when I don't?

I know the cost of the server,and I guarantee you it's dearer than you think,as for how much in donations,that I don't know.

Having some idiot randomers question my credibility, jumping to wild conclusions and generally sounding like babies when time and again they demonstrate no knowledge of what's involved in running a server, nor have put any effort into it themselves....
