Car tyres: best value in Dublin?

    Hi,

I'm wondering where in Dublin sells decent car tyres at a good price. I've had to replace two tyres in the past three weeks at a cost of €78 each. This morning I got another flat and I'm thinking that I must be able to get good quality tyres for a much cheaper price in Dublin (my tyres are low profile).

    Anybody have any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Cheapest (ordinary) tyre I could find last week was €80 in any tyre shop in Dublin.
Even on-line, taking into account the valve, fitting and balancing charges here, it wouldn't be too much cheaper.

Just because you got a flat does not necessarily mean that you need a new tyre....

The last tyre I bought was for my clio (previous car). 45 pounds at Willis' garage in Derrylin, Co.Fermanagh. Lakeland tires in Enniskillen is another place off the top of my head.

tires are generally the same price everywhere. It all depends which make and size tire you want. I always ask for a discont when i buy more than two tires. Most times they will give you 5euro of each tire

Move to Kerry, 3 tyres for a Rover 45, 185/65/14, balanced and fitted at 150 euro.

FastFit in Santry are ok. From around 50 quid a tyre on a small car.

I have cheapo tyres on my car and they are brutal in the wet. Next time I'll get decent tyre. Rang around last week and of 5 or 6 places I rang, each had a choice of about 4 tyres. I had only heard of one brand before. Avon. The rest I'd never heard of. To get a brand I'd heard of I'd have to order in advance as they didn't carry stock. This is for a stock 14" wheel. Cheapo tyres where 50~65 and brand names started about 75.

Are you using the correct tyre pressure?

Try a place in Cabinteely for tyres in Dublin. Don't think they have a website, but they are on Clonkeen road me thinks near Tracys Yard. Cabinteely tyre centre, nice guys and cheap car tyres, which is cool.

Sometimes I think reviving old treads is helpful for others.
