I think it lowers your temp to a point of a cold and spreads the infection around to people that are near you.

I offed myself for the consideration of others before, which led to confusion on who I was and another was shot in the liver LOL good times

It kind of does. There's a "if you're not in voice-chat you're dead" thing which has a strong influence on play mechanics. The boards server is incredibly hostile.

I'm in the boards clan, it's far from boring, it's a fraught affair. There's an anti-boards clan too.

The problem for me is that it seems to be all shoot-on-sight, and I like trying my luck with strangers. That's pointless on the boards server now, and I believe the bandit levels are way above average.

Being part of a larger team has much to offer, you can share supplies, vehicles and stuff. Cover each other.
Perform large scale raids.
Stuff you can't do without a team.

But.

You can still pay solo if you want. No one is forcing you to take part in any raids, they are fun as hell, even if everything goes wrong.

You can go do your own thing, I do. The only difference is you can call if you see someone. Confirm they are not on Mumble and take the shot, or not... I've dodged more people than I've shot by a nice margin.

I think having a team opens a lot of doors and closes none.

That's why there's an anti-boards clan! To stop the mindless hoarding and server free roam. A bit of a contradiction, but necessary all the same. IDK, If bandits wern't intended, and grouping up wasn't allowed, I`m pretty sure they would have fixed it by now.

Yeah, the whole idea of bandit groups sounds awesome to me ! I mean.... IRL... if there was ever a zombie Apocalypse, im sure there would be groups of bandits who survive by pwning the noobs.

Unfortunately a lot of people prefer playing with friends.
While it can be fun,being able to trust them,call on them for help and taking out a much larger group, the downside is you can't play on your own....wait,but you can!:eek:

Seriously though, there's max 8 on at a time,rare it goes above that,so that means there's 32 other players that we do not know.

Well they took out side chat to try and stop people grouping up. Not sure what else they can do.

When I first started playing, I ran into my first group of about 5-6 people at the airstrip that gave me an mp5 and food etc, I assumed this was the norm and I went on my merry way. About 30 mins later I ran into someone else and assumed he'd just run past me in the same manner - Nope, insta-killed and my mp5 nicked. Shrugged it off re-spawned picked up another wep, got killed by another person. Kill or be killed - no exceptions.

Rocket wants to introduce some sort of radio system in the future, I was reading some sort of lootable baby monitor/ham radio setup.

I think Genghiz answered you perfectly. My opinion is that this game is about survival, you've a better chance of that in a group yet you can still play solo if you wish. Not sure where you are getting this "bullying" idea from (bandit's and shoot on sight were around long before a bunch of boards folk decided to play together) and "killing zombies with ease" isn't accurate, you just have a better chance against them when there's more than one of you.
I know I like to venture out solo and most times will avoid killing other players unless they take a shot at me first - quite recently I watched two guys inspecting a small town and let them go on their merry way when it would have been very easy to pick them off.

Sure look at the anti-boards gang/group/clan - they sound like a bunch of kiddies wanting to play the game like a COD deathmatch - they're perfectly entitled to do so, who gives a fcuk about them or how they play or how others play the game. As long as you're not cheating or hacking then all's fair.

It's funny I can see how dictators work now, you don't actually have to have full control you just need people to think you do.

As Andrew76 says the noobs seem to approaching this as a team deathmatch in COD, the boards clan actually killed feck all people in the past and we even joined up people we met along the way in the past, however the recent visitors are trying to make into a team deathmatch keeping scores etc so everyone is shooting on site now. I'd imagine Rocket will bring back bandit skins and maybe some incentive to keeping your murders down.

The whole idea of the game is survival and death and you have to embrace both.
