Oh come on, anyone can park the bus, even Ireland managed it fairly well until we got to the finals. The difference is when Italy hoof the ball upfield they have Balotelli and Pirlo to make things happen. At least now they have conceded they will be forced to play some football.

They've played plenty of football already. Against Spain in the opening game, and against Germany and England they looked potent playing good football.

Pirlo and De Rossi have been fantastic in the middle, it hasn't been all hoofball. Pirlo drops deep to collect the ball and spary it around the pitch, he doesn't wait upfield to collect long balls as you suggest.

They've rightly been earning plaudits for their approach during this tournament

Everyone said Italy would do crap and not get out of the groups. And here they are in the final. They're a good side. Not playing their best tonight unfortunately but they are a good side.

How many goals has silva scored? Was that his 2nd or 3rd?
