    Book something somewhere, whisk her off for the weekend after work and let on that you were worried she had figured out where you were going because the hotel had sent a gift card to the house and you thought she saw it.

    I suppose you've never given a birthday card or present either. I agree going overboard is a bit ridiculous but something small is always nice. Doesn't take much to get a card/make a favourite dinner/small present etc.

    Oh I totally agree. It's really nice to do things, go for lunch, crack open a bottle of wine, a little token gift (who doesn't love presents), but to grovel? seriously?

    I would love nothing more than to get rid of the kids and whisk her away for the weekend but shes working again in the morning and on sunday, so it has to be a small gesture. The flowers have been ordered and dinner ingredients got. On a seperate note. 100 posts, another milestone in my life.

    like other posters have said, just have something lovely planned for when she comes home.
    Get the kids minded asap, overnight if poss. Book a meal.
    have a huge bouquet of flowers on the table for when she comes in, candles lit, and a glass of wine in hand, tell her to get ready you're going out.
    I would be well impressed and have forgotten I was angry at ya. x good luck
