I wouldn't go there OP, arrange for something really nice, doesn't have to be expensive, but defo flowers, champagne, dinner and a little prezzie. And grovel.

    Why? why, why why?

It's just a day, it's not their actual wedding day, now if he forgot that I'd understand her being pissed but jesus like. Flowers, champagne, dinner and a pressie? And grovel?

Book something somewhere, whisk her off for the weekend after work and let on that you were worried she had figured out where you were going because the hotel had sent a gift card to the house and you thought she saw it.

I suppose you've never given a birthday card or present either. I agree going overboard is a bit ridiculous but something small is always nice. Doesn't take much to get a card/make a favourite dinner/small present etc.

    I didn't forget mine ...... wooo hoo !!

Because you wrote it, along with every other minute detail of your life for the next ten years, in your agenda? :P

Oh I totally agree. It's really nice to do things, go for lunch, crack open a bottle of wine, a little token gift (who doesn't love presents), but to grovel? seriously?

I would love nothing more than to get rid of the kids and whisk her away for the weekend but shes working again in the morning and on sunday, so it has to be a small gesture. The flowers have been ordered and dinner ingredients got. On a seperate note. 100 posts, another milestone in my life.

Inexpensive flowers, champ-bleedin'-pagne, dinner and a present? What's your idea of inexpensive? This is all so wrong.

Next time just dump him and set him free. I bet he'd appreciate it :P

also buy a dog house incase it fails... you'll need somewhere to sleep tonight

Also when she does arrive , cock your leg like a dog and have a slash up against
a wall.... she might think you've lost your marbles... you may just get away with this OP.

Ah yah now I agree. If I was ever told to grovel over something like that I'd be 'forgetting' the next few on purpose.

You'll never forget your 100th post. It was on the same day as......oh wait.

Right, as the title says, i completely forgot my wedding anniversary is today. Just got a call from the wife to see how the children were this morning as she was gone to work before they got up. Anyway at the end of the conversation she says "happy anniversary by the way". I said, "Sh*t i completely forgot" so there’s no getting around the fact that she knows i forgot. Its damage limitation now i suppose. So what do i do AH?

Spend the rest of the day trying to organise the best fcuking wedding anniversary that has ever fcuking been and play off your lapse as intentional!

    S. C. O?

I don't think that's really relevant do you?

like other posters have said, just have something lovely planned for when she comes home.
Get the kids minded asap, overnight if poss. Book a meal.
have a huge bouquet of flowers on the table for when she comes in, candles lit, and a glass of wine in hand, tell her to get ready you're going out.
I would be well impressed and have forgotten I was angry at ya. x good luck

Shes a nurse. I'm sure the patients on her ward would appriciate a little bit of Tammy Wynette.

The alternate reality defence. We never got married because of that thing, remember? You'll have to start calling the children by different names and move all the contents of your house into the house across the street.

How or why did you forget? In all honesty now? I don't get it.

Oh and you could get your wedding date engraved on your wedding ring.
