Hi - I'm coming from the Gardening Forum where some users are getting problems with their 2 stroke tools as a consequence of Petrol now being cut with 10% Ethanol.
Is it still possible to buy pure (uncut) petrol in Ireland?
    If so where?
Any help would be much appreciated.

In Ireland, petrol for road vehicles contains a minimum of 4.16% ethanol as of June 2012. Possibly its possible to buy a jerry cans of pure petrol for other uses but I've never seen this. It might be worth looking into what people with classic cars do.

Thanks fasttalkerchat - It seems that people with classic cars worry about the problem. http://www.ivvcc.ie/Ethanol%20in%20petrol.html

Thanks Rovi - I'm looking for a list of suppliers - the Agents seem to be Liffey Fuels - I'm from Roscommon - And heaven knows where the person who started the thread is from.

I ran my lawnmower on E85 no problem, 85% Ethanol, though its 4 stroke of course. What is the 2 stroke problem?

Hi Matt Simis - I had a problem with a Stihl Chainsaw and a cheap strimmer and a hedgecutter and a friends decent strimmer. cutting out after about 15 minutes - using new fuel. And failing to run again.
It maybe that with the price of fuel being very high at the moment there was a temptation to over extend the fuel. I've since overcome the problem by purchasing fuel from a different fuel station.
It's going to keep on cropping up (in the nature of things) though and needs to be sorted.
