    Hi all,

I'm horribly allergic to chlorine and paying out money and so I was wondering if there are any good places to go for a morning dip close to Dublin city?

I'm a reasonably strong swimmer but would like to find a good swimming spot where there were a few people swimming at around 6:30 in the morning for safety.

    thanks.

I don't know about 6.30am, but Seapoint near Dun Laoghaire has a lot of sea swimmers (a work pal did his tri training there).

There's also the Half Moon swimming club on the South Wall in Ringsend - I've never actually see anyone swimming there, mind you - but AFAIK it's still up and running.

I'm a fairly experienced swimmer (in pool), but haven't swam in the sea in a long time. I'm planning on doing a triathlon this summer so I'm hoping to get some sea swimming in the next few weeks either Seapoint or 40 foot.

Are there usually people around there between 6 and 7in the evening? Are there any marker bouys that you can use at either to track your distance? What's the best thing to do with your gear? I'll probably cycle down, with a bike that's a fairly high theft risk, are there lockers you can leave keys or anything?

A few of us from Dublin Swimming Club will be in Seapoint tonight from 6.30 or so and we bringing out some folks interested in learning about sea races, might be of interest, if so bring the gear, more info on www.dublinswimmingclub.ie
