White MacBook battery bulge

At the weekend, I noticed that my late 2008 white MacBook wasn't sitting flat properly on the table. I flipped it over and noticed that the battery seemed to be bulging out in the middle. I took it out and have been using it on AC only since and the battery does seem to be bulging/warping out in the middle.
I assume that it's shot and on the way out, I was looking at getting a replacement and from my local reseller it's €141 for one, would there be much difference in getting a third party battery online?

I bought a 3rd party one online after the same thing happened to me. I think I paid only about 40e for it.
Then I noticed it was starting to deplete faster and faster. After about 2 months the exact same thing happened in that it started warping even worse than the original battery did.
In the end I had to splash out on a new Mac battery but I'd still perfect several months on.
I also am using a 2008 macbook btw.
So I recommend just forking out the cash unfortunately.

Yeah, I'd strongly recommend getting the official battery.

Thanks for the replies, I thought as much, will have to go for the original. Just have to wait a few weeks to get the cash together for it.

The Newertech replacement batteries are meant to be an upgrade and can be got for less then from apple.
