    I'm not sure they can blame the Turks here.. People know at this stage that you have to check these things a thousand times, and that if anything goes wrong (particularly in non EU states) you could end up banged up....

    tbh, it's the child I feel sorry for... held in custody because of the mother's negligence..

    I'm glad to see the turkish checks are sound, much better than ours by the sounds of things. If this was reversed and it was Dublin airport and someone from Turkey trying to get in with an out of date passport there'd be no sympathy.
