Free to Air / Saorview Cabling question

Hi All,

Looking into the FTA/Saorview combo options available to me but firstly have a cabling question.

Is it possible to run both the satellite feed and terrestrial feed into the same cable using splitters on each end?...attached Combo Cabling picture.

The splitters I was looking at seem to have specific input and output ports. Does it matter that I was going to use two (one reversed)?? see splitter image attached

Appreciate any help & apologise if this has been answered elsewhere or is not in the correct location.

Your thinking is right but you need to use sat/aerial combiners and not splitters. Something like this http://www.tvtrade.ie/alltrade-tv-aerial-and-satellite-combiner.html

You need a pair of specific TV / satellite combiners such as these http://www.satellite.ie/acatalog/Satellite_UHF_combiner.html rather than normal splitters.

You don't use ordinary combiner/splitters with satellite & terrestrial signals.

Use a pair of diplexers like these or you can get them built into a wallplate for the receiver end.

EDIT: Even slower, but I'll leave my post here due to the wallplate reference ...
