Can't play video in Firefox

Hello, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction here. The other day I noticed that I can't play video through firefox anymore, Not on youtube or rte. If someone has posted a video from somewhere into a thread here on boards it just comes up blank. I can't figure out why. I've tried various thing including disabling add ons, updating flash and java (though I'm not sure what this is) and more but its just not coming back. It very annoying so if anyone can help I'd appreciate it greatly.

I had similar problems recently actually. Youtube videos wont load properly and when they do the stop half way through with an error popping up about the script timing out or something.

My solution was I just started using google chrome instead. Havn't had an issue since.
