Upgrading my graphics card

I have an old enough computer and I want to get a new graphics card, the only problem though is I have no idea what I'm really doing. I've looked at a few cards and I think I've decided but I'm not sure if they're compatible. I have a ipn73-ba and I'm not sure if it can support pci-E 3.0, or even if that matters. Can anyone help?

Budget? Intended use? The motherboard has a PCIe 2.0 slot (x16) so you can support any graphics card, without any real bottleneck.

The only thing I couldn't find after going through the spec sheet though, is the wattage of your power supply. Do you know what it is?

Have you got any idea of the system specs because it might not be worth upgrading your system . You might also need a new PSU because I would trust a PSU out of factory built pc to run a decent GPU .

I would really think about a PSU upgrade because i don't think your PSU would be able to handle a good gpu . Oh what Resolution is your monitor and what games would you like to play ? Have you got a budget in min too ?

1920x1080 is my resolution. I don't really have much money to play around with so I was going to get the nVidia GeForce GTX 640 or the AMD Radeon HD 7750 Graphics.

The 7750 is a much better buy, and doesn't consume much power. Do you mind me asking who you were going to buy from?

I'd probably pick it up from Komplett in Dublin, even though their prices aren't the best. It'd be handy or RMAing the card and whatnot. Link
