We are thinking of getting our kitchen from IKEA.

I'm wondering does anybody have one installed and if so how you find it quality wise?? Also who installed it for you as it is very expensive (3k) to have it installed by IKEA themselves.

    Thanks a mil

We put in some units last December in our Utility..
They are well made and the carcasses are strong.
I thought the doors are a little on the light side, we went for shaker style solid doors to match our main kitchen..

Overall I'd be happy to recommend it with my only concern being how robust the doors would be long term..

I installed the units myself, they are easy to put together and install and the design of the components allows for easy assembly..

I purchased my kitchen in Ikea and installed myself. Very happy with quality and end result, but a couple of the features that you see in other kitchen showrooms are not available from ikea. I wasnt particularly keen on their corner unit, turntable style unit, so i purchased a magic corner elsewhere and incorperated it into an ikea base, bit tricky but worked well. All in all satisfied with the end result but it wasnt cheap when you add everything up and that was without paying for labour. My advice would be to go to some of the kitchen suppliers and price equivalent. I have a sneaky suspicion that its only ecnomical to buy in Ikea if its diy.
    Enjoy

IKEA kitchens are a great job , I have fitted this type of kitchen on a number of occasions in the past. Just make sure all the plumbing works are on the ground (i.e. under the kicker board) because the units fix straight to the wall no 50mm gap. Also just look out for the worktop its not 600mm.

Some carpenters don't like working with them and bitch about them a lot , but i think there the bomb :)

and i think 25 year guarantee :) too
