    Hi lads

we're replacing the aul fella's clubs. he's not a regular golfer and not golfing to a high standard so would need to be fairly forgiving. They don't need to break the band either!...Right hander, six foot two. full set required. budget would be 300 if possible.

he has a good driver and some hybrids already which he would keep with the new set.

just wondering if you'd recommend some places i could chat to someone and get some good advice and friendly service? would prefer to do that than go online.

    thanks

Are you looking for a full set, driver, 3 wood, and irons ? Or just irons ?

I would recommend something like this.
    http://www.mcguirksgolf.com/wilson-ultra-cgi-graphite-complete-set/wilc0112pd.html

Big sweet spot so very forgiving.
I would tend to go for a graphite shaft (I'm assuming he's old as he's your dad :D)

The Callaway Big Bertha irons are very forgiving. Set for sale here (not my ad):

well i wouldn't say it to his face but yes he's reasonably old :)

63 - so not too old i'd like to think anyways

    the wilsons look interesting.

i've hit the big berthas myself before and they're nice too. probably more expensive for a full set. i'd prefer to buy a full set and brand new.

just regards the stores themselves - are there places you'd particularly recommend for service etc?

i've had some bad experiences in the past, but it could have just been that particular staff member so wouldn't want to tar them all. but human nature being what it is, it does make you wary about certain distributors
