    Hi All,
I'm planning a trip to Gerona in August. Renting a car, (I know, I know), and road bike. I'm looking for some really good looped rides (I will be on my own) around the Gerona and Costa Brava region generally. I am a relative newbie on a road bike but have gotten up to about 100-120K rides. I'm not looking for high category climbs as I don't think I would be able for that yet. For example I am able for the Sally Gap and have done that quite a few times but at the end of an 80K ride I do struggle towards the top.
I have looked up Strava and Map My Ride and there are loads of routes to choose from and I suppose that is the problem. A recommendation from somebody who has been there on which ones are best - nice towns, nice scenery etc, etc. As I said I will have a car so don't mind traveling around the region, up to Olot or down towards Barca etc etc. Would like to try a few hills but nothing too heavy. Ant pointers would be greatly appreciated. I will be on a Cannondale Synapse Carbon road bike.

I cant advise you on any routes, but if you head east to Pals/Begur, there's some beautiful spots along the way. A lot of cyclists around Pals as well as its quite flat.

If you drive north to Roses there is an amazing ascent/decent from there to Cadaques, and the national park there is lovely too.
