I was always really good at them except for the 9 times table. I refused to revise that because I didn't like the number 9

    theres a pattern of +1,-1
    18 1+1, 8-1 =27
    81 8+1, 1-1 =90
its strange how its never mentioned

    9x27=?
    (27x10)-27

Bad boys rape our young girls, but Violet gives willingly.

Richard of York gave battle in vain.

    All cows eat grass.

    Every good boy deserves fun.

Periodic table of elements, rarely meet anyone who knows all them and I ask everybody I meet too.
You must be the life and soul of every party!

I've been reading a book about memorizing lists of stuff.. and I've managed to do Presidents of the US and the like but nothing that's useful... Bar you're sitting an exam where you just regurgitate stuff, is there any list of stuff that I could memorise and practically use...

And yes I was gonna put this on one of the other forums, but I thought the answers here would be more interesting... Start throwing your sponges now...

A shopping list horse, I go shopping and forget loads of stuff.

what the hell is the raping one about?
I know the others are the colours of the rainbow, and treble clef notation.

Raping one is about the colours of different electrical resistors.

I remember this one from JC Science.

I have already memorised a list that can include thousands of numbers.

    eg - 1 , 2, 3, 4 , 5 , 6

Your times tables. Anyone who doesn't know them off by heart leaving school must find it tough to live, never mind do well in a quiz.
Are you serious? They can make calculations quicker if you've memorised them but only knowing a couple won't be a huge detriment to your existence.

If you're ever taking part in a quiz I'd say a list of American presidents and Irish taoiseachs (or British prime ministers if it's a British quiz) would be crucial. Number one songs and Oscar winners too.
