Are there any stats or info relating to sale price agreed v asking price 2012?

    Looking at a few options. Saw a few decent 4 bed semis in or around Blackrock, Co Dublin, priced around €350,000. Anyone any current experience of what might be an acceptable final bid in current market for such an asking price?

    Look at similar 4bed houses in the area , what are they going for?
    if you think house is worth it ,bid 280 or 300.
    say house x is going for 200, i,d bid 150 ,or 170.
    This is general advice,i dont know the area.
    Don,t be embarrassed to bid low at the start , you can always increase your bids.
    Many people are selling at unrealistic prices x,cos the have a large mortgage,
    most areas have seen price drops 50-70 per cent from the boom peak prices.
    The main thing is not to pay too much over the average price in the area.

    If I WAS bidding ,id bid asking price minus 20 per cent ,
    if i think house is worth x amount.
    Don,t bid more than you think more than house is worth,
    you can buy 3bed, add on another bedroom at the back.
    IF you read the papers, in many areas in dublin, prices have not dropped in the last 3 months.ie they have stayed bout the same as march prices.
