GUI Open Fixtures say there's a Junior Scratch on in Mount Juliet on Wednesday. Can that be right? I'll call them tomorrow but give me a shout if you know in the meantime.

Can't see many playing on a Wednesday.

Are they both off the back tees? Never played either course but they've both been on the list for a while now.

Been waiting a year to play Tralee, had to cancel last year.
€35 is a great price considering the usual price.
Went to book a tee time online and saw they have an open comp on the 23rd for €20, couldn't pass it up, booked both days. :D

Yep carlow will be off the back pegs, tough test as a Par 70 with a lot of long par 4s.

1st is 440 yds, 7th is 455 yds uphill, 11 is 430 uphill, 16 is 440 uphill and 14th is 475 yds all from blues. Hopefully the weather stays good

Pretty sure wolseley will be off the whites but thats like most places blues ha, theyve got a few diff tee boxes so not 100% sure yet

JSC in Carlow Sun 1st Jul for €30. GUI site lists it as 18 holes but rang the club to enter to find it's 36 holes so good value. Never played Carlow or in deed a 36 hole competition before so looking forward to it, it'll be quite the initiation.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭heavyballs

    Yep. Looking forward to it.

is there just 1 course up there?,looking at their site it's a bit confusing.

I played there years ago and i remember starting with 2 par 3's which was a bit unusual.
Also, anyone know what sort of condition the course is in?Thanks

Go to the Championship course in the drop down menu on the website. That's the course.

playing the senior, looking forward to it, never played The Grange

Playing as well, should be fun. The senior was actually advertised as a 36 holer back in February and March but has since been reduced. Still decent value and a great course, lots of mature trees and quality greens.

Championship is longest course available, Par 72.
Greens are in good condition, rough is quite punishing at the moment, trees are mostly in the way, as usual :)

Hope you get a nice day for it, forecast is good.
