Htc Flyer vs iPad?

Hi all
Not sure if I'm in the right area/section, but need some advise. I want to buy a tablet. Love my phone and tired of the laptop, so want the best of both. I am not very tech minded, but want something worthwhile. I want to watch movies, play games (sometimes... Mainly for my son), use word document, Skype, email mainly.
I like am thinking of either the htc flyer (I think the scribe is really cool, I know not really technical aspect) or the iPad as I have a iPhone (but it is restrictive)
So please advise me on which will be a better buy.

It depends if you want android ice cream sandwich or apple ios, I think ios is way to restrictive but you should google both to see which suits you. If you go android your choice of pads and phones is very large so its a lot easier on the pocket change device in the future.

I have both. The scribe feature is not something I use a lot.
HTC flyer is dated at this stage, amazon were selling them off cheap at GBP 179 recently. The flyer will not get ICS.

If you fancy a change from Apple, have a look at the ASUS TF300.

I'll leave this here but if you decide on Apple or Android I can move it over to either forum for you if you want

. I'd prefare the Android route myself due to the less restrictiveness of it and not having to use iTunes (which was the one major thing that made me hate my ipod

). Android devices "out of the box" will also support more video formats than Apple (which I think still only supports Apples format?) so you'd need to also convert videos to watch on the ipad (which can take a while/need a pc)

I think it still only supports .mp4, .mov etc
I recently had to convert 350 .mkv and .avi videos to mp4

I would definitely be more inclined to go with an Android option.
iOS feels like I'm borrowing it from Apple (for a fortune!:eek:)
