What is a good site for finding a flatmate?

And by good I mean a lot of people use it. Tried the daft database but got zero results. I'm looking for someone to go apartment hunting not ppl with existing accomodation.

On a related issue, say I wanted to rent a 2 bed apartment but I couldnt find a flatmate, would a landlord let me pay 50% of the total rent until he finds another tenant? I completely new to the renting game so I dont know much about these things. If it makes a difference the rent I would be able to pay is €700.
