Advice Needed: buying a tent

    Hi everyone!

    A question to any (semi-)experienced campers out there - has anybody owned/stayed in one of the Quechua T6.3/T6.3XL tents?
    I'm just looking for any feedback/comments/recommendations regarding this tent, or other potential candidates.

    A friend recommended this brand and I actually saw many of its labels at a recent festival, and after trawling the Internetz I didn't see too many negative reviews for this tent (as was the case with Skandika for example).

    Now, the T6.3 XL weighs 25-29kg, but does anyone know if it's possible to separate the weight more or less evenly between two suitcases, so that it could be brought onboard a plane? I don't really see myself doing too much camping around Ireland, but it would prove very convenient if a tent of this size could be brought to the mainland by air to go camping with a few friends.

    Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    I.e. go camping in Germany/France or anywhere else on mainland Europe. It's simple enough to drive around Ireland or even to the UK, but for the rest of Europe I figured flying would be more convenient.

    There is a huge rock festival that takes place in Germany every summer, and after trying it out this year, I was thinking of going as a substantially bigger group next year.

    TBH, I think it would be highly impractical to bring a tent like this on a plane. The tent is only the beginning of your gear. Sleeping bags, mats, clothing, cooking equipment, all the regular list of things needed for camping fit neatly in a car, not a suitcase.

    If you want to go "backpack" camping then I would recommend http://www.hilleberg.com/. But this is a massive change from what you've shown.
