Reading this article recalls the Starbucks gaffe from a few days ago. The faces of the players are priceless.

There is a story (may be apochryphal) that at a game in some remote nation, the Republic of Ireland football team had to make do with IT'S A LONG WAY TO TIPPERARY as the anthem.

There was also the one where they played the Nazi German anthem when some German girl won something at some games... If anyone can fish it out of youtube.

That may or may not be true, but at the first Rugby World Cup in 1987, Ireland stood to attention while 'The Rose of Tralee' was blasted out. Fact!

A team manager who was in attendance contradicted the chief executive, saying the version played was more of a "mix" between "Die Stem" and "Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika," the current anthem. Confusing matters even more is that the current national anthem of South Africa features verses from both songs. They were combined in the 1990s after apartheid was abolished in the African nation.

So essentially, the fact that the first verse of the anthem was cut off caused this woman to enter such a state of shock that she could no longer watch what actually mattered - the game of hockey?

Sorry, it was a careless mistake but she is something of a dramatist.
