Thats would be deemed in Irish legal terms as possible (too) far excessive force being used.

Just going on what I mentioned above previously, he can't even claim self-defence I think.
He paused after he delivered the first slap - saw she was not retaliating or aggressive towards him - and then he started still again and delivered two more wallops.

I would would find it very hard to see him innocent of at least a charge of assault.

He's a nasty piece of work.

    UPDATE:
AN ARREST WARRANT has been issued for the spokesman of Greece’s far-right Golden Dawn party after he appeared to throw punches at a rival – in the middle of a live televised TV debate.
...public prosecutor Eleni Raikou issued instructions for Kasidiaris’s arrest almost immediately after the show ended.

It's interesting, while not special, because the current climate in Greek and the Eurozone and then you spice it with the far right hitting the (maybe far left?) socialist MP, and the overeaction of the MP throwing the punches, and the fact he hit a woman. And he seemed to be aiming towards her face, which is slightly disturbing.

As an aside, would this Golden Dawn party be the only anti-german nazi party?

He is just typical of the thuggish far-right ultra-nationalist parties that have won seats in parliaments right across Europe from Athens to Helsinki and from Budapest to Oslo.

Just imagine what they would do if they managed to hoodwink substantially larger numbers than the eejits who have allowed themselves to be swayed by their false promises, got real power and were able to put their xenophobic, Islamophobic, homophobic, anti-multicultural and find-a-convenient-scapegoat for everything "policies" into practice.

However, it is more usual for them to beat up some defenceless immigrant out of sight in a back alley than to hit a woman on TV. By doing that he has, hopefully, opened a few eyes and thereby done the world a service.:):)

On the one hand, this is disgraceful behaviour from a politician of all people.

On the other, I wouldn't mind seeing Michael Noonan kick the crap out of Mick Wallace.

I doubt it. It is not like modern day Germany is aligned with Nazi ideology.

Have a line-up of members of the government vs the opposition, no holds barred, have it pay-per-view.

Would have all our economic problems and deficit solved in an evening.

This is a problem that will keep popping up in lots of EU countries over the next few years.

Countries like our own and greece don't fit into a one currency system, far right movements are on the rise all over Europe like the head cases neo nazi party in this video (the guy throwing water and hitting an old woman).

The longer all these bailouts go on, it is just prolonging the agony of something that is bound to fail in the euro one currency system but also you will see a trend of these far right movements gain power across Europe.

If you had the opportunity to go back in time to assassinate Hitler before he came into power, would you be willing to do it? Maybe some Greeks will be saying that about the leaders of Golden Dawn in ten years time if they're elected.

this was taken from the youtube comments and explains everything :)
One of them claimed that she would turn into magical beast if water was to touch her skin, and the other one claimed that she was a martial artist and could block anything he could throw at her.

Fast forward to 1.11. Another example of the basket case country it is.

Disgraceful behaviour by the Golden Dawn politician- Note: he is not an elected MP in the true sense of the word because the Greek parliament has been dissolved.

His behaviour represents the disturbing ideology and actions of the party he represents. Remember that journalists were forced to stand in reverence to the party leader during a press conference after they won seats in the parliament. I hope he is arrested and faces the law for his despicable conduct.

However, I disagree with your assertion of Greece been a basket case because of his conduct; I have seen worse behaviour in some highly industralised and prosperous countries- I will suggest you do a google/youtube search of fights in Japanese and South Korean parliaments.
It is becoming common to talk down to the Greeks these days as if it is one backward, failed country. On the contrary, they are very hardworking and ingenious people who have been repeatedly let down by the political elite, a situation not entirely confined to just Greece.

Instead of the vilification of the Geek nation, I think this was an isolated incidence carried out by a nutter that represents a dangerous political party and not representative of the average Greek citizen.

If men and women are equal, why is it wrong to hit a woman and alright to hit a man?

To be fair, it's pretty stupid throwing paper at someone a lot bigger than you and clearly on edge. He was pissed off at the woman who claimed he was involved in an armed robbery in 2007, which he hasn't been proved innocent/guilty in yet so that's pretty unfair to bring that up. He was also wrong to be violent, but they're all pretty f*cking stupid.

Looking at it a few more times, the first one looks like a slap and the rest didn't even make contact with her face. She got off lucky to be honest, I wouldn't bet against that lad taking on everyone in the room.

    She could have taken him.

She would of had a punchers chance at best. While she has a big weight advantage and could probably soak up a good few punches, eventually his superior conditioning and hand speed would come through. If I was him I would just keep my distance and use my jab to pick her off. Then when she starts to get tired, I would grab her by the throat and chokeslam her through the table.

From a biological perspective, men and women are not equal. Men are physically stronger than women and are less receptive to pain. Therefore, a man hitting a woman is far more cruel than a woman hitting a man. A man who hits a woman, like that MP did in that video, has no honour.

From a legal perspective, however, men and women are equal. However, I think that a man who hits a woman should get penalised more than if a woman hits a man because of the aforementioned physical and biological differences. For the most part, we are equal but different.

It doesn't matter what he was being accused of, he didn't have a right to go around physically assaulting people on the set. You know, looking at the way he acted I wouldn't be surprised if he was previously involved in an armed robbery. He's a thug, he's a member of a neo-Nazi organisation for crying out loud.

People with ideas like his don't deserve a voice on national television, let alone being treated fairly in a debate. Personally, I'd make every effort I could within the law to bring about the destruction of his party.

Golden Dawn are seriously shady. They removed any journalists who wouldn't stand in reverence for their leader at a press conference recently.

    And, their flag...looks familiar, right?

No,she didnt hit him.I am not trying to defend men who beat women, but if a woman feels she has the equality to hit a man then surely she has the right to be treated as equal to a man and be hit back?Would you agree?
