Regarding SV Torpedo, id prob put Goose Island ahead of it, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is that hoppy its nearly like an IPA anyway, speaking of which i picked up 10 bottles in Naas Tesco today for 15 notes

Currently sipping a Badger Fursty Ferret.
Was recommend by a few friends so went out of my way to get one.

Over all my pointing is a big fat "meh". Actually annoyed I wasted one of my 5 for €10 from tesco on this bland muck. I usually have a rule that if it's in a clear bottle, avoid it. Will be sticking to it more rigidly from now on.

I found the smell was horrible the minute I opened the bottle. I did the same as you, wasted my 5 for 10

@MANUTD Tanglefoot is a much better drink, I also found Ferret a bit meh but enjoyed Tanglefoot

Working my way through some Brewfist beers and new(to me) Flying Dog beers. So far the Brewfist SpaceMan was quite disappointing. Thought a 7% 70 IBU beer would be exactly up my street.

Any opinions on these Flying Dog beers ?

    In heat Wheat Hefeweizen
    K-9 winter ale
    Road Dog porter

Not a huge porter/weiz fan, but cant be drinking IPA's all the time !

Am not a huge fan of SV Torpedo or Goose Island IPA myself.

I love the bottle art for Flying Dog, does anybody know the best way to get them off the bottle ? Might make a collage out of them(such a beer nerd !).

Brewdog Hardcore IPA on tap at the Bull and Castle last night, one of the tastiest draught beers I've ever had.

Haven't been out for one yet, is it true they only sell it by the glass and not the pint?

Yeah its only by the glass, and it will cost the same as what a pint costs, so I'd imagine 6 euros sadly.

O’Dempsey’s Inukshuk IPA a lovely light IPA.
Slightly sweet caramel taste at the beginning followed by a nice hint of bitter hops.

Person beside me thought its smelled like grass anyway a good beer and would buy again.

Saltaire Cascade Pale Ale, thin, dull, not overly citrusy, didn't really impress at all. A shame as I was looking forward to trying it.

€5.50 for a half pint, but it's 9.2% so it works out quite reasonable when you think about it. It's the hoppiest beer brewed in the UK(according to Brewdog) so it's very expensive to make and thus, very expensive to import. You can't really expect it to be sold cheaply.

Oh I understand that, I have had it many many times, great beer. Had just heard about the glass instead of a pint and was wondering was it true, kind of expect it with the ABV.

€5.50 reasonable for a half pint?!? Only in Dublin! Draught more expensive than bottle is not reasonable no matter how you try and justify it.

Look at the ABV though, it's almost as strong as wine. Is €5.50 reasonable for 2 glasses of wine?

I'd sell a 330ml bottle of it for 5.50/6...draught should always work out cheaper than bottle. I've sold and bought many a pint of 10+ % abv beer for €6 a pint and wouldn't go near a €11 pint!
It's your money at the end of the day lads but there is no way I could justify that kind of price to myself or a customer. €4 a glass max.

Sipping Brewfist's Jale, an ESB. Not bad, smooth, biscuit, caramel with enough English hops to balance the whole thing out. Maybe not the best of the style but a solid, enjoyable beer.

Dropped into McHughs Kilbarrick today, their selection has improved greatly.

Picked up one of each of the Kinnegar Beers (we got the last of the Scraggy Bay IPA on the shelf, I don't know if they had more) and Dungarvans Commeragh Challenger Bitter. Great to see new Irish beers and really looking forward to trying them.

Interestingly they had several bottles of the Franciscan Well's Bellringer, I may have to make a trip back for a bottle of that.

St Austell Admirals Ale. It's truly awful. Had a weird soapy after taste.

Hmm, Admiral's Ale is one of my regulars, I find it so tasty and well-balanced. Are you sure it was in-date? Also, it's a bottle conditioned ale, maybe you would like it without the yeastiness, more clean and crisp tasting (leave the yeast in the bottle while pouring).

I'm not questioning you or anything like that, it's just I've found it to be a solid beer time and time again! Happy drinking!

Just sampling an Evarads 'Beacon Bitter' for the first time. Challenger hops come through a good deal, some malt, caramel, and floral. It's a decent enough bitter, though it reminds me more of a session beer because it lacks greater complexity.

Still not a bad one by any means.
