Thought it might be worth while having a thread here just for Nintendo based E3 2012 discussion!

This was posted on Facebook by The Gaming Liberty earlier today, confirming what people have been expecting, but I didn't think we'd see it yet:
Between yourself and myself, Nintendo are going to show off a revised 3DS tomorrow. Much like the DSi XL, the new 3DS will be bigger than the current model. Keep and eye out for it tomorrow

I think the 3DS is the perfect size! Doubt there will be much hardware changes in it, probably just bigger! Which won't upset me at all, I don't need it bigger cause I carry it around.

    I r excite for games :D

    Source is Nikkei:
(who are usually on with their pre-E3 "leaks")

    Full rumor:
    3DS revision

    - 4.3 inch screen, making it 1.5 times the current size
    - release in North America, Japan and Europe could happen as early as Summer

    Wii U pricing and content

    - 30,000 yen (roughly $380)
    - will see distribution of non-game content
    - this includes car navigator and books
    - also mentioned is a karaoke service with around 10,000 songs

So a larger 3DS wouldn't be very mobile for streetpass, would it?

It's probably aimed towards those weirdos who use the 3DS for gaming :pac:

Blasphemy! I got my Zelda branded 3DS to look at it. So purdy! :D

It's probably meant to persuade those that went for the DSi XL to jump to 3DS XL? (Guessing they're gonna go for that naming!)

I thought the dsi XL was for those who had hard times seening the screen or something like that ?

So the 3DS gets it's own conference
    http://kotaku.com/5915648/nintendo-has-so-much-stuff-to-show-it-needs-three-conferences?tag=e3-2012

The first conference was a let down imo so hopefully they make up for it with the other two.

Wonder if Ubi will be allowed to show any Wii U stuff, or if it'll have to wait till tomorrow? Still like the look of Killer Freaks from Outer Space. Looks like Rabid Rabbids! :D

I'd say with the close relationship they have I'd say they'll hold off so they don't appear to be favouring Nintendo too much

Ah I was wrong. Good job

ZombiU looks great! Can't believe Killer Freaks from Outer Space turned into that! Probably a good thing considering how similar the 'Killer Freaks' were to Rabbids. They were like Zombie Rabbids, so guess that's where the progression may have come from!

The Gaming Liberty posted a video that is supposed to be a HD Majora's Mask. Looks 'Fan Made' to me, but you decide for yourself!

Pikmin 3 looks really good! The textures on the grass, ground, rocks, plants etc are awesome! :D

23 games to be shown!!! O_o

Console supports two gamepads at the same time! Best news so far!

Was expecting more of a live demonstration

Two game pads great, i be getting the black version no doubt , pikmin 3 for me :D and zombi u gameplay ideas look fantastic , i be terrified when trying to snipe or scan and have a zombie jumping out at me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,698 ✭✭✭✭Princess Peach

Damo wants black and I want white, so the 2 gamepads was the best news for me :pac:

I thought they had a good mix of kids/family/ hardcore games. Nintendo aims to target everyone, so they need a little of everything. So nobody gets enough of what they want in a presentation.

Except me, cause I love everything!

One thing I hate is that stupid ass family ¬_¬

Just wish we had a date and price. But I was overall happy! Hope there's a few more 3DS games tomorrow.

You'll need to explain this to me: why/how were some games, incl. pikmin, advertised as 4p co-op if you can only use two gamepads? I was under the impression that it was 4p local from the pikmin demo.

The console uses Wii remotes and nunchuks also. If you only have one or two gamepads, the other players use the remote.

I think there's a type of classic controller also maybe?

From what I saw, the gamepad was pretty vital to gameplay, particularly in pikmin.

It can be played with a Wii-mote and nunchuck too. That's how others play.

WiiU Pro Controller, dunno if one comes with the console, but would make sense as a lot of games seem to lean to MP.

In the multiplayer fro Pikmin, I think one player uses the Gamepad and oversees, while the others use the Wiimotes to control the Olimar-likes.

Ubisoft had a good demonstration at their conference with Rayman: Legends. 2 players moved the characters like normal with the controllers while the gamepad player swiped at stuff to create new routes and attack far away enemies.
