Can anyone tell me if there is any of the private company's covering this route? all I can find is bus eireann and their times are a "little" off, we need to check in for a ryanair flight at 10.15am and the bus doesn't arrive until 10.30 If we were travelling with any other airlines I wouldn't worry as our flight is not until 12.15 but i dont fancy any other charges from ryanair - or are we ok arriving 1hour 45mins before departure?

why don't you check in online?
print your boarding pass, Knock airport guidelines for online check in passengers are 90 minutes before flight departure.

1 hr 45mins before is plenty at Knock Airport, there's no long walk to the gate and security is quick so you'll be fine.

It will literally take a few minutes to go from the bus stop and right through security, to the gate. For a Knock Flight at 2.30 i often would not leave Castlebar untill 1:15 and still have loads of time in the airport.

You do know Ryanair charges you to check in at the airport right? Check in online on their website and arriving at 10.30 will be fine.

    Do they?

I know there is a €10 fee and whether you check in online or not, you have to pay it.

I haven't actually flown from Knock with them but it's their standard operating procedure at every airport as far as I know, they charge about 40 euro if you haven't booked in online.

Bus Éireann's Knock Airport service is a joke. Was waiting there for 3 hours for a bus to Galway the last time, you'd think they'd shuffle the schedule about so that it arrives in not long after the daily flights or something.

Also booked online once and accidentally picked Knock rather than Knock Airport. Miserable git at the wheel was really awkward about it and eventually let me on but not without acting like he was doing me a massive favour.

Sure, simple as that. Never mind that those services cater for much more than just Knock Airport, people travelling from Sligo to Galway should have their travel dictated to by the whims of Ryanair schedulers.

The bus timetables are there for you to see BEFORE you book a flight, if the wait time is too long then you need to consider booking a different flight or making alternative arrangements.

Knock is a tiny airport with only a handful of flights per day, nobody is going to cover costs by operating a bus service exclusively for it so without somebody heavily subsidising such a service the best you will get is a stop off on a route passing nearby, if the times of such a route don't suit your particular itinerary perfectly then tough.

He was. Incorrect internet tickets are not valid and the correct procedure is to refuse them and charge for a seperate cash fare, the unused internet ticket can be refunded/partially refunded by e-mail application under certain circumstances. In cases such as this drivers will usually process them if it is technically possible but the procedure to do this is not straightforward and takes additional time. Time that delays the service and all the other passengers due to YOUR error.

Try accidentally picking the wrong destination with Ryanair and see how much leeway they give you boarding a different flight to the one you booked.

C'mon son... how are you going to make a ridiculous comparison like that and expect anybody to take your post seriously?
