Tasted Metalman Windjammer recently and I had to go back for more after work today. Its possibly one of the most refreshing beers i've ever had, especially in the great weather. Also could be a good one to reel friends into trying different beers.

Got it in Farringtons today, Bull and Castle should have it too, but its not too widespread I dont think .

Yeah it's a lovely pint. Sadly it's a seasonal special so get it while you can!

Yesterday and today, amongst others,I've had Cocker Hoop,Badger First Gold,Badger Poachers Choice,Wychwood Hobgobblin,Duchys Organic Cider,Jeremiah Weed Sour Mash Brew,Jeremiah Weed Root Brew.

These last 2 are just stunning, something a bit different. Can we get them in Ireland?? Bloody well hope so.

And on draught Rubble's Best,Thatchers Gold cider, the latter is very drinkable, head and shoulders over that muck from Clonmel.

Got a few new ciders to try in Redmonds for a picnic tomorrow, Henney's Dry , Henney's Medium and intriguingly Longueville House a Cork "Artisan" cider.

Yeah I just checked their site, didn't realise they were such a small operation. They aren't long in their brewery and are busy attempting to start bottling too. If they get a foothold Windjammer will have to be a permanent fixture, on tap and in the offy's. Its too good not to be!

Got a case of 'Headbanger Old School Ale' sent to me by some biker friends in Italy, 8.5% ABV, quite impressed with this for an Italian craft beer.

Had a few Gingerbeard the other day and they were lovely

Finally had a bottle of Galway Hooker at the weekend, gorgeous ale, like a smoother less busy version of the Porterhouse Hop Head. Have another 6 bottles in the drink cupboard which I shall savour

Galway Hooker is in my top 3 beers.

I'm having a Sierra Nevada & Dogfish Head Life & Limb.

Was in the Basque country for the last 5 days. The small town we were staying in had quite a few bars serving nice beer including one with over 100 choices, mainly Belgian with some German and English ones.

Had a Trappistes Rochefort 8 for €3.40 and a Grimbergen Dubbel which cost €2.70.

All the Belgians were below €3.50. It's hard not to feel aggrieved at the prices we pay in pubs here.

Currently sipping a Badger Fursty Ferret.
Was recommend by a few friends so went out of my way to get one.

Over all my pointing is a big fat "meh". Actually annoyed I wasted one of my 5 for €10 from tesco on this bland muck. I usually have a rule that if it's in a clear bottle, avoid it. Will be sticking to it more rigidly from now on.

Have you seen that Bull+Castle and Farringtons are going to have Brewdog Hardcore on tap this friday. Seemingly only have a small amount, hopefully it will be a regular thing. That's what I'll be drinking this weekend !!

Wonder how expensive it will be considering Punk/5AM are around 6.25/650 there.

This might seem a funny question folks but if a publican wishs to stock some decent craft beer in his pub be it bottles or draft whats stopping him.
A good mate of mine is a publican and I think its about time I tried to talk him into getting a small bit of stock in other that the regular pub offerings.

    Apathy from the general public.

J.W.Lees Moonraker Ale, part of the 5 for €10 Tesco deal...I like this one a lot, almost a barley wine.

I'm on my 3rd tasting of Sink The Bismarck this week. First tasting wasn't particularly pleasant. However, with each tasting, it's getting better and better. There aren't any real flavours being picked up other than malt and alcohol. Nice, but not worth the price tag.

Aldi just opened in Sligo today so picked up a 12 pack of Galahad Export lager from them this evening for €7.99. Lovely stuff! Has a slightly bitter after taste. Tastes like a weissbeir like Erdinger.

Picked up 24 bottles of Brew Dog 77 Lager for €20. Well happy with that. It seems that Irish drinkers don't like to pay over the odds for lager (when there is an abundance of cheaper substitutes), so it doesn't sell very well. As a consequence, my local off-license is selling off his stocks (last crate I'm afraid). Not my favourite BrewDog beer, but still damn fine at the price.

Reputedly getting in 5AM Saint on draught in the coming weeks too, so it'll save me a trek to far-oft pubs for something outside the norm. Happy days!

Fort Collins Brewery Red Banshee - A sweet red/amber ale quite malty maybe too much but I found the taste didnt quite work.

Red Brick Laughing Skull - Boring average taste almost a metal taste I thought so looked up online and seen someone else also thought the same so maybe its a bad batch or something but wont be returning to that again.

It's about 4 years since I've had it, and my tastes in beer have developed a bit since then, but at the time I liked it. You could probably do worse for the price.

It's one of the best IPAs out there so don't expect them all to be so nice. But it is a very nice style.

It's definitely good, but I wouldn't put it at top of the "best" IPAs out there. Definitely a great beer though.
