Best Batteries? (AA)

I believe this is the best place on boards to ask about batteries. What do you find are the most powerful long lasting AA batteries?

eneloop rechargables. or... i think there's a old thread here somewhere where a few cheaper brands very similar to eneloop were mentioned.

If you can't find the Sanyo eneloopes, Maplin do Hybrid NiMH Uniross batteries which are pretty similar.

I use these for flashguns and find them pretty good.

What will you be using them for? For most digital cameras and flash units,
rechargable Ni-MH are the most suitable type of AA cell.

If you don't use the device frequently, then a set of low self-discharge
types will probably be the best choice. Sanyo Eneloop and Panasonic
Evolta Rechargeable are good.

I have also had excellent results with Tesco own brand "Greener Living"
2000mAh AA rechargeable. I have a couple of sets of these and they
consistently match or exceed the claimed capacity. This puts them on
par with the quality brands like Sanyo.
