I tried to hold off the feeling but after just over a mile and half I was forced to stop or else I was going to have a messy accident and I was contemplating jumping a gate into a field. Thankfully after a minute or so on the side I felt better and was able to rejoin the runners. My only way back was to follow the crowd so I sat in at their pace which felt like a comfortable jog. I spotted Ultraman1 ahead so caught up and passed him with about 500m to go before going off the course just before the finish line to register a DNF.

 . He repassed me on the downhill but went only a few metres ahead before holding. A waterstation came up just ahead so when he went for a bottle I charged on and we immediately hit another incline and I was not to see him again.
