Is this testing whether I'm a replicant, or a spider-lover Ms. Omgitsthelazor?

    1. Kidnap it

    2. Write ransom note

    3. ......... I haven't really got around to thinking this far ahead yet

I deal with this dilemma on a daily basis, usually when I've been deprived of sleep, when I see two hairless, albino tarantulas dancing all over my keyboard. I usually figure out within a few hours that's it's just my hands.

Kill it dead before it has spider babies.

Descend into hysterics. Found one in my Dad's polytunnel today which had a body the side of a grape. The lack of predators and amazonian heat in there obviously had let this thing evolve to such a size you could have put a leash and chain on it and sicced it on people you didn't like.

It will be some time before I'm myself again.

    It was HUGE!!!!!

    Body LIKE A GRAPE!!!!!

The bigger it is, the easier it is to pick up and put outside. Or smush it with your shoe or whatever. The annoying ones are the little bastards who are too quick and you dunno if they've gone up your sleeve or into your ear or wherever else!?!

I don't mind spiders so if I can't catch them I let them be. Little did I know... I've a large double bed but only use two of the four pillows on it. I hadn't moved one of the pillows that was leaning against the wall for a few days. Changing the bed clothes, I move the pillow and the bastard spider had made a little nest and about 40 mini spiders were all over the pillow.

I don't mind spiders! Only yesterday at work, a nurse squealed when she saw a spider in the corridor. She asked a doctor if he would remove it, but he nearly passed out too! So I stepped in, scooped him up in my hands and put him outside. I was made to feel like a superhero :D, but I told them I would have required their assistance had there been a slug present  !

    Spiders are great.

They get rid of those bastid flies.

Cup + paper = spider out the window!!

Poll needs to be multiple choice - first I'd squeal, then I'd evacuate the room, then I'd ask someone else to come throw it out for me, all in quick succession. :p

I'm really bad with spiders, I don't even know why. I often jump quite violently when I see one near me (pulled a muscle once because of it!) and have been known to scream too :o. I'm making an effort to get over it, and have started getting the smaller ones out with a sweeping brush, a sheet of paper or the hoover... but I still run a mile from the bigger ones, and relocate to the spare room/couch in the middle of the night if I find one in my room!

For all my fear of them I don't like killing them either, the one and only method of eradicating them myself is the hoover. (so I can keep a safe distance)

then quarantine the hoover for a few weeks in case it crawls back out. :pac:

Pretty sure that will kill them, might just be a slower death. Poor spideys :(

    I hoover up spideys

Though there is one on my hallway ceiling for the last week or so and he hasn't moved, could he be dead?

The bigger they are the more likely they are to run at you, causing you to fling yourself off balconies, or wardrobes, in an attempt to evade it. And that could be lethal. Thus, even Irish spiders can easily kill you.

I don't mind the little ones, it's the ones that are faster than me that give me the heebie jeebies.

I'd do the first three options in the poll, all at the same time, very quickly and loudly and with swearing.

This thread makes me feel like something is crawling on me.

I don't do any of them!

Catch it in something and let spidey loose outside the house, I hate killing them.

This thread makes me sad. :P

I can't stand bugs/insects in my room.. Just the thought of it could be anywhere doesn't sit well with me if I don't kill them as I see them.. As someone had said, they could breed etc
