Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There's a Joytech fully adjustable regulated VV ego battery on the way. Ego batteries are all i carry around, out and about. A VV version would be cool...3.2V - 4.8V...

The fact that this thing delivers under load is insanely cool.

    pretty cool

i wonder what the battery life is at 4.8v though... i'd imagine sfa but still.. handier than a lavatube for a night out

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 3,761 Mod ✭✭✭✭eeloe

Yep, saw this on the Joyetech website a couple weeks ago....

    650mAh @ 4.8v....definately a night out device, but still cool! :)

yeah id imagine it's a 650mah, the other variable volt ego form battery is the same sizwe as a 1100mah but is only 650. all that added circuitry has to go somewhere

Looks very promising, a shop in Germany was selling the 900 mAh for €30. Looks like there will be a 1000 mAh one too.
Probably only a couple of euro in the difference between them when they are widely available.

I think my eGo VV is 1000mAh. It's bigger than my 1000mAh eGo's alright.

This is basically the same as the Ego or Tornado booster which retails for about €55.
This has a better voltage range so €30 is a good deal as far as I'm concerned - will buy a couple of these when they're available.

4.8 volts is certainly good enough for most things.

yeah 4.8 seems to be sweet enough...i rarely go over 4.5 volts on the Lavatube to be honest! :)

Lads would anyone give these a go for €30 for 1000mah?

    for 30euro it's be worth a punt!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

yeah I'd pick one up too, be handy to have a variable voltage backup for my variable voltage backup and if they work well they'd be a good starter point for people interested in VV

  • Registered Users Posts: 122 ✭✭dublinscot

Anyone know when these are due to be released?

  • Registered Users Posts: 850 ✭✭✭wingnut32

    Early to mid May

    review here
****ing thing is as big as a 1100mah and it's only 650mah

christ, imagine how big the 1000mah will be

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

someone over on ukvapers put up a review of theirs

said he got around 9 hours vape from the 650mah at 3.8v, that's pretty great

one of the irish sites sells them
    bargain vapour maybe?

I had one before, and someone else here got one. they're decent batteries, worth having tbh althoughu they are unregulated iirc. so you start off on the higher setting of 4.2v, but as the battery drains the voltage drops.
the ego-c twist is regulated im pretty sure but it'll also be more expensive.

both are decent enough batteries to get a quick feel for variable voltage vaping

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,305 ✭✭✭Green Hornet

Yeah, I bought one of the eGo-VV 1100mAh batteries from Bestecig.ie.

Works pretty well and lasts quite a long time alright but it's a bit too big lengthwise for me. Also has all these LED's that I dont like either - like a flippin Christmas tree.

As Sir Digby says though, it did give me an experience with VV for < 20 Euros.

650, hopefully it'll have a reasonable battery life up towards the 4V mark..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,715 ✭✭✭Gryzor

Just spotted this on the Heavens-gifts site...

Not much vaping time at 4.8V on the 650mah, ~12mins of actual vaping time...or maybe i can't multiply anymore :o

    hrm
4 second puff, 5 second wait..
so about 9 seconds in between puffs
    7 puffs is 63 seconds.. so I guess 7 puffs a minute?

    200/7 = 28
ive forgotten what im doing here
    oh
    28 minutes non stop vaping..
    I think

yeah, I was measuring actual firing time. Your calcs are about the same...they just include the 5 sec wait between each fire...

Not brilliant either way, was never gonna be great at 4.8v though...

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

yeah, plus you're not going to be chain vaping 4 second drags every 5 seconds :)

real life useage would prob be 2-4 hours I guess, not great but not terrible either

seems like it'd be a good enough device for 4 volt vaping though, on a night out with an LR carto/atty

  • Registered Users Posts: 122 ✭✭dublinscot

Love the twist! It's the first variable voltage battery i've used, so i can't compare it, but it seems good to me. Not too bothered about the extra size. Love the way i can tailor the voltage to get the perfect amount of vapour and throat hit

Got one of these for my sister yesterday, she's over the moon with it.

Started using it yesterday @ 2pm, and when i left her last night @ 1am, it was still vaping away with no drop off. pretty good from a 650mAh battery.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

what voltage/ohm carto was she using?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,305 ✭✭✭Green Hornet

Are they much different than the eGo VV that has the 3 settings? Or is it just that it has more increments?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 3,761 Mod ✭✭✭✭eeloe

around the 4v mark with an LR boge! :)

Completly different, the voltage isn't set by a button(like on the ego vv's) you twist the bottom of this one anywhere from 3.2 all the way to 4.8v

I'll keep this updated with her daily useage as much as i can to give people an idea.

She loves it so much she's selling her Lavatube, to fund another twist. so it's that good!
    haha

To be fair, the LT was a bit masculine for her!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,715 ✭✭✭Gryzor

One thing i've noticed about the twist, the outer threads are not the same as a regular ego.

Slightly annoying as it means my ego cone, or Smoktech DCT eGo thread cover won't screw onto it....

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 3,761 Mod ✭✭✭✭eeloe

That's strange, my sister is currently using her cone on hers?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,715 ✭✭✭Gryzor

Strange, both of the attachments, screw on ~2 turns, then stop.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 328 ✭✭Stefan_Cork

    Hi,

got 2 of em, both work fine with the cone for me.
I absolutely love em, best 21 euro x 2 spent in a while.
Also size wise its just a tad bit bigger then a standard 900mah battery.
Its a bit bigger then expected but still tiny compared to my LT.
I so far love it and LT stays home for now.

    :D:):p

Yep, sisters in love with the twist, i can see this being a super popular product for Joyetech...she's ordered another 2 today!

    Mother ordered one also! :)

We're a family of vaping MONSTERS!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,715 ✭✭✭Gryzor

Looks like the threads on mine were a bit iffy. I called in my mates, brute force and elbow grease last nite, they got the job done. Cone still doesn't go all the way on, but close enough...
