Posting on behalf of a friend , any help appreciated.

Her compaq cq61 406sa laptops monitor has just stopped working without any signs as to why. From what i can tell it is booting up. Usually at some point while turning it on the wifi light will change from red to blue, this is not happening now.

there seems to be light codes flashing although i cant find any info as to their meaning. The lights are located directly on the middle vertical left of the keyboard and another just above the top right of the keyboard. they flash in sync and dont seem to show any signs of stopping, i guess they may not be codes so.

Ive looked at it in all different lights and angles and there is no visual , that i can see, coming from the monitor.

Thats about all the info i can think of, i have access to the laptop if any more info is needed. Thanks .

    Thanks Nick,

Have reset the ram, and reset the harddrive and the video cable. I have also tried booting with an external monitor attached.

Still no joy. It also does'nt fill you confidence when a google of the make and model turns up suggestions for where to buy a new monitor .

Any other suggestions? would it be worth trying to boot with another laptop harddrive? or would that even work?

Yeah RAM can get slightly dislodged/faulty etc and can cause such issues, quite common actually,
