Your assistant (me) would also be cheap....:)

LZ5by5 was earmarked for that role a few seasons back if I remember correctly when ManagerKess was floating about, so LZ's HandsomeBob persona will have to get first refusal. :)

I'll take the cleaning job. It's the safest at the moment.

Clarke is still not confirmed, is it? I hope he survives, will give us some continuity, although a new man is likely to want his own team...

Liverpool's first team coach Steve Clarke, appointed by Dalglish, has resigned in show of solidarity.

Although Kess I believe you would be better suited to a scouting position!

We need a local sounding accent at the helm to keep folk happy so I will be taking the managerial slot and one of the scouting roles. :D

I will be hiring Luckylloyd for the head of communications role because I reckon I could enjoy him and the various media outlets going to war.

You could scalp tickets to my introductory press conference.

Just personal opinion that he thinks he should get it though, nothing factual or no inside info.

Once again shows how much of a clueless idiot he is.

O'Neill would be a disaster. Absolute worst case scenario.

I see the owners are getting a lot of flack on RAWK. Is noone else impressed with their ruthlessness? The performances on the pitch have not matched their ambition and they are acting swiftly on it. To sack so many people is going to cost them a lot (financially) but they obviously think it's for the good of the team and so, are prepared to pay the price.

Any honest Liverpool fan can see that we simply haven't been good enough over the past couple of years. We haven't improved over the last year, despite spending money. Kenny, as much as I love him, was completely unable to address the problems we had on the pitch this season. It seems like a logical decision to me.

I just hope they get this next appointment right - it is crucial. This extended period of bad form at the club is in danger of becoming more than just a slump. They need to get everything right this summer.

Attachment not found. Its probably right that he moves on but you still feel gutted that the man was sacked.

Kenny's status as a genuine club legend is intact as far as I am concerned and I am sure that will apply to the vast majority of LFC supporters.

Was it time for him to go? I think so, but only if genuine quality comes in instead of him. I don't think it will take long to find out if that decision will be made.

Kenny came back, he rose spirits, he gave us a figurehead that still managed to unite the fanbase to a large degree despite the muck league season we just had. He will never be anything bar a legend in Liverpool, and the man will forever associated with great moments in the club history rather than the season just gone.

His legacy is safe, and only the greats get that luxury.

no because we have seen it all before at newcastle in the 1990s, they did a purge at the redsox during the close season as well and the redsox sit bottom currently......

It's one thing being impressed with the ruthlessness of how they have carried out business but it doesn't look like they are following it up. To say the reports of Martinez or Lambert being talked about as the replacement are uninspiring is putting it mildly. As things stand now the club has no manager and a lot of the positions are empty, filling these is going to take a preference over signing new players, something which other teams have already made a start on. And with the Euro's on during the summer we are either going to face stiff competition for players or pay over the odds. Their ruthlessness could leave the club facing into another season like this or worse.

Not even an amoeba would question Kennys legendary status, but yet again this is the soccer forum .

It is true that the club has no manager and a lot of positions have yet to be filled. But it also true that it's only May 15th, and there is plenty of time before the season starts. They did the right thing in waiting until the end of the season and they did the right thing in acting quickly, leaving plenty of time to find a replacement. I'm guessing they will appoint a number of people over the next couple of weeks with plenty of time to get working on the team.

Ignore the reports on Martinez or Lambert - they could well be totally fictitious. They probably know nothing in this case. For months the media were saying that Redknapp was nailed on for the England job.

Just came in from Belgium at 5pm and heard the news the second I landed. I hate to see Kenny's time at Liverpool end on a low but as much as I hate to say it, it was the right decision.

You'll hear a lot of "still and always a legend" and it is true, but it is undeniably a legend tarnished. Alas, time to look forward to (hopefully) better times.

Wouldn't AVB style and Borrell and Seguras just dovetail nicely !

Little bit shocked by the news. The replacement would want to be top notch.

Back from the scouting trip already? Good man. :)

Kenny's legacy is tarnished in the short run, but he's obviously still untouchable.

I'm impressed by the owners in this, I think giving Kenny the job in the first place was a mistake, but they've acted realtively quickly to rectify it. You just have to hope that they have the brains to go with the ruthlessness.

Like I said before I really don't think you'll get AVB. And I'm desperatley hoping you don't. Personally I think the best option would be to hire him, give him a budget and leave him alone for a couple of years. Mind you that was our best option as well :( I'd say AVB has a lot of choices though and I don't think Liverpool would be the most attractive one for him.

Was just thinking about that, they are 4-3-3 men who adapted to 4-2-3-1 for to dovetail with Benitez I'm sure they would switch back quick enough.

Kess, you need not apply for the job. Myself and Anfield Cat have handed in our CV's and have been installed as the bookies favourites.
