Review Sites?

Howdy

Can anyone recommend a couple of good music review sites for me? Musical tastes would fall under the indie/alt umbrella if you need a "genre".

Pitchfork for the indie anyway.

My favourite site for reviews is allmusic. It's really good for finding music from different genres through the decades, has an editors choice of the best records from the last 3 months and full discographys and reviews for every artist you can think of. The new layout is nice too.

BBC Music is a good review site too.

Here are several U.S. websites for new music. They're mostly college and university radio stations - that's where most of the action is on that side of the Atlantic since most commercial stations there are pretty risk averse when it comes to new music. Almost all of them provide playlists, and I recommend you checkout the programme schedules, that's where you're most likely to find what you're looking for. Note: The college radio programmes cover a wide range of music types including alt / indie.

The only downside is that you may have to dig a bit to get to the playlists. As usual, you can also listen to the broadcasts online.

Also, some of the names of the programmes on the university stations are pretty creative!

Pitchfork is ok but they are ridiculous fan boys

Best music critic on the internet in my mind is Anthony Fantano (theneedledrop)

His videos on youtube are brilliant

We're lucky to have one of the best here in Seattle. (btw US radio stations start with a W if they're east of the Mississippi and K if they're in the west).
