I think it's fairly obvious it's slightly scripted and I refuse to believe that they always just manage to find a really rare item worth thousands. It's entertainment though.

It's also completely wrong. Barry was brought into the show by the EP, he'd never even heard of storage auctions before. He made his millions selling fruit or something.

There's another one on the Discovery channel and one on Dave called Storage Hunters where they all make thousands and thousands of dollars every episode and never make a loss. ffs like. At least there's usually the odd crappy unit on Starage wars!

There is also a Storage Wars Texas spinoff. The characters are virtually the same but in a southern drawl stereotype. These shows are obviously not real.

Darell made 125 dollars profit

Jarod is a middle aged man who dresses like a 17 year old skateboarder and has lost 900 again this week by overpaying for crap

Yeah that's the thing I don't like about it - they get items valued at 2000-2500 dollars and then at the end they say Darrell made a profit of 2500 but they haven't actually sold the item yet

Well they can't exactly say "nobody made any money because nobody sold their shyte yet" at the end of every episode. It's entertainment!

I once saw an episode on the History Channel which wasn't censored, Dave was screaming "Fcuk you Mother****er" at Jarrod

I don't believe Storage Wars is 100% real but that website is bs. No sources and the admin's email address is a hotmail account. I mean come on. Just because it's on the web you believe it? hello the original poster with the question - I haven't heard of any auctions in Irish storage units - it might be worth ringing them to ask - I bought a storage unit from a friend who was cancelling her account with the storage unit beside the NCT centre in Deansgrange - it was a massive place - no natural light and a bit like being in prison I'd imagine but after watching 40 episodes of Storage Wars, it was like being in HEAVEN - anyway bought unit for 85 euro and started going through my boxes. I sell online and within two days had sold four of the artwork for 80 euro so pretty much made my money back - then have over 120 DVDs for car boot sales in 2013 to sell - will sell at 2 euro each or 3 for a fiver and nearly half were in their wrappers! Then she miscellaneous (never look down on misc) which is another 100 euro - and finally there were 10 pieces of Royal Albert and more of Aynsley bone china which I have online for 200 euro - plus about 100 euro worth of really cool things that I'm keeping for the house - I would recommend ringing the stores and asking when the auctions are - cheers Tim
