Downloading .abs files

    Hi Im trying to download a .abs file but it keeps coming down as a mp3 file,
    Have i corrupted something operating version 10.6.8 many thanks in advance.

    When you say "it comes down as an .mp3 file" do you mean the file extension changes to that or that your system tries to play it as an mp3 file ? Did you try right clicking>Save As ? Mime types for most browsers will see .abs files as audio files and will try to play them.

    .abs could refer to several different filetypes including Soduko files and certain audio formats connected with the .mp3 format.

    What type of file are you attempting to download ?

    Thanks for getting back to me its this file I am trying to download http://www.mediafire.com/?32lec9qk2qg7nk6

    Its a channel list for a satellite receiver.
    But just about anything I download now comes out as a mp3 file



    The above file comes out as A120_April_V2.18B2A.abs.mp3 really stumped can I change what format I download.

    Just select the file and press Command+i then rename the file there ? Or Right click the link and select "Download linked file as . . "
