    Hey guys,

I have the Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 which i got on bill pay with three a year or so ago. I recently upgraded and was looking to unlock the phone so my gf can use it on Meteor. I have tried twice already with Three customer care and twice the code Samsung sent to them failed. They say I have 1 more attempt before the phone will completely lock and then I have to get a replacement from them, of which they dont have the Galaxy S in stock any longer and offered me the Sony Xperia s which I dont want.

Im just wondering if anyone knows how to unlock it another way, I know on XPA developers there are methods for some US networks by downloading a file onto the phone which appears to work.

Or should I simply tell my gf to get a three sim card!? Thanks

Why not get the sony xperia s, sell it on adverts between 300-350, then buy an unlocked samsung galaxy s on adverts, would cost between 150-200.

So basically 150e and an unlocked galaxy s

Not sure Dubhoop, but tbh I dont think I wanna risk locking the phone with another code that will probably not work, was thinking more along the lines of doing it by downloading a file onto it. Three have made it clear that once its done either way they are no longer responsible for the phone and will have to contact Samsung directly for repairs.

The Sony Xperia S was only released in february, the galaxy s came out in june 2010, so the specs are a lot better, xperia s has a dual core processor, 32gb memory, hd screen etc.

You definetly have the galaxy s not the s2? If so then yes the xperia s is the better phone by a long way.

Edit: Actually, just read your original post again, you must have the galaxy s as the s2 would still be available. So id do what i said above.

Have you tried the unlocking apps in the market? Unlocked my s2 sucsessfully with one.

Edit.. Dropbox link to the app i used.... http://db.tt/YpZ2vGls

Edit 2.. Linked app for the sgs2. Not sure its gonna work on the S... And now for the disclaimer... Im not responsible for any damage howsoever caused to you or your phone by you downloading and using this app... :-)

There's half a dozen apps to unlock the SGS 1 aswell. They work and there is little to no risk.
