Not a bad tune, but i think it's about time we changed those words. Although, a lot of draws... ;)

Ah come on now, "And we'll really shake them up when we win the World Cup, 'cause Ireland are the greatest football team", from the legendary "Put 'Em Under Pressure" weren't the most accurate lyrics either. You have to allow for a bit of poetic license in a football song!

Anyone notice how Tubridy asks random unlinked questions that are often all over the place and just when a guest gets into something, Tubridy moves onto something else. Strange that.

He's just emulating his predecessor ;)

How's about a burst of the Marino Waltz while John Sheahan is there?

It's from that song, That's why i said, about time we changed the lyrics..

Singing the same song in a slightly different tune for over 20 years.. :(

That was crazy...I could listen to John Sheahan all night and his music and he had golden chance there to get him to play something on the fiddle...and he shoes them off after all of two minutes....And keeps those pillocks Jedward on for 20 minutes...nuts...and then they wonder why LLS has gone down hill.

Barney and Damien Dempsey have talent. I've no idea who the other two lads were though.

    Orange pilled.

    "You'll never beat the Irish!"

Usually sung about 10 minutes before somebody does just that!

    "We love Ireland abú"

Which is it? Are yis trying to say 'We love Ireland' or 'Ireland Abú'? Say one, or say the other, or - if you want to say both - say both, but don't ram two separate song lines together. It just sounds crap!

"How did you feel when you heard you'd never walk again?"

That would be the second question.

I adore his tune "The Lonesome Boatman", it is so moving :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,873 ✭✭✭Skid

He had some fine musicians there, with a bit of imagination they could have been asked to do another song. Maybe a tribute to Barney McKenna RIP,

    Another missed opportunity.
